Don't even joke about that! I read Super Sales on Super Heroes last week and that was an actual plot point! Any disobedience and the slave gets thrown into a sausage making machine.... and eaten by the rest of the slaves in the company.... and that's our hero by the way, not the villain!

Haha, that's why I made that joke. I read that last week myself finally. That part was kind of odd, but in a weird funny kind of way. Bobages is now a thing.

I'm surrounded by villains... I LIKE THIS SITE :D

I think the sausage machine was just a Sweeney Todd reference forced in. That book kept poping up in my recommended line up and I finally caved in last week. it's a fun read but needed some molding (food pun unintended!)

I've read both of the Office Politics books, and damn if they aren't absolutely stellar. It's not easy to pull off solid humor and a sinister background plot and not have it come across as either hackneyed or forced.

This one is quite a bit darker in tone than the first one was. I'm really looking forward to the next one to see where things go from here.

Thanks, I am glad you are enjoying them. And you are right, humor in general is hard to keep going. I took a break on the third one because the humor was starting to feel forced and I did not want that. Not a complete break, I mean I do have about half of the first draft done. I am going to finish the first book in another series real fast and hope that a break away helps keep book three as entertaining as the other two. I do have a 'Work In Progress' thread for the third episode, which I am tentatively calling Office Wars: Lab Coats Optional. We shall see if it sticks.

    Appreciate the kind words.

    Sure thing!

Lab coats with nothing under them - oh, there's a visual. Hope it's not drafty in there!

And don't forget the closed toe shoes. Those are mandatory in labs, even when coats aren't.

One suggestion for dealing with stale humor would be to open something of a brain trust. This being the Internet, I'm pretty sure you can't swing a dead cat without scratching at least a baker's dozen punmasters. Do some mad libs with your brain trust and that should get you some fresh material.

But yeah, as GRR Martin has proven, people will wait for the latest installment of a given book series. They'll wait until the cows come home, die of old age, and get turned into McDonald's dollar menu double cheeseburgers.

Oh yea, can't forget the shoes. Some even require steel toe, which can be a weapon...

Haha, I won't make you wait that long. I do bounce scenes off people to see how they respond, I'm typically hoping to get things like 'oh god, no you didn't!' or 'what the f did I just read?' or they just fall out of their chair laughing until they piss themselves. Those all good reactions in my opinion.

This book I definitely want to use beta readers too.
