Walt and Ozzie will need to gain experience and level up if they hope to survive but every moment is going to hurt. Walter LaPointe and Oswald Blackwell are QA techs for SlynderSoft, one of the hottest gaming companies around. However, the pair have just awoken inside Realms of Th'loria, the most popular video game in the world. This would be an exciting adventure except they appear to be living in the original and brutally unfair 1.0 build of the game that existed before the MMO became a theme park RPG. Not only will they need to level up to survive, they also must figure out how to get off this ancient version of the game, and onto an upgraded server, if they hope to find their way back to our world. Timothy W. Long, a life long reader of epic fantasy and best selling author of 17 novels, brings his wit and love of all things pop culture to the LitRPG genre with fearsome effect. If you think you know how this game ends, you are going to be in for a surprise.
I'm watching Ramon's Vodcast and he mentions contacting the author to get to the bottom of this mystery. The dealio is the author felt the book wasn't ready so he pulled it and it should re-emerge sometime in September.
Hey all - I'm the author of this Shards of Reality. It's almost done and my beta readers have read about 60% of the book. I'm hoping to have it out in about 10 days assuming no big issues pop up. Sorry for the cancelation but the book needed some more work. The good news is that I ended up adding about 15K more words and I believe the final page count will be around 425 pages. I hope you all enjoy it. This is my 18th novel (I'm a full time author) but I feel like this is the genre I was always meant to write in. I've been a fantasy reader for almost 40 years, and EQ is still my all time favorite MMO.
Thanks, and good to hear! Dost thou have a release date I can throw up on our Goodreads LitRPG group? =)
Not yet but I don't imagine it will be later than the 20th of this month. I still have a little bit of work to do to make sure the books up to par. Love your sig line: "LEEROOOOOOOOOOOOY JENKIIIIIIIIIIIIINS!"
Woot! Thank you so much. I truly hope you like the book half as much as I enjoyed writing it. I have so many projects going on and yet I'm siting here working on the sequel to Shards because I can't help it. I really want to find out what happens to my characters.
