Well if vassalage is akin to a vow, the moment they break it or attempt to break it could cause a battle of wills. I'm guessing betrayal wouldn't be a bonus in the leaving parties column.

    Book 8 quote about vassals:
This bond serves the same function as a Vow or Favor, but is several times more powerful. You may convince other beings to serve you in this capacity, but they cannot be directly forced to do so. Remember, Choice is the essence of Chaos!

Looks as though it may even be worse. They can't be forced into vassalage, they have to choose it. By breaking a choice badly they may actually be in for a world of hurt. Leaving on mutual terms or being cast from Richter's side is probably the only good way for them to leave his service

I too think that he will get Multiple benefits and upgrades, the amount depending on the % amount corresponding the the % of upgrade points of things he's Absorbed.

I think he will have a chance to receive each of the upgrades with a probability equal to their % multiplied by some factor, and with the guarantee that he will receive at least 1.
My guess is he will end up with 2 or 3.

What would he get from harvesting the remains of the hellspawned mauler, the linch lord, and the wind demon? Something big for sure. Although I think when he reaches 100 percent the universe will give him something unique and special and unknown, like what happened to clouds running.

He's got a chance to gain the powers he's been absorbing, but he also gets a completely separate bonus as well once the quest is up according to the quest prompt

Just charm the vassal or blood puppet him then make him quit the vow.. and then use him in some other way..

Some how I feel like that is just how you can get the vow to back fire on you instead of the vassal

You would break the vassalage the moment you start controlling your vassals with magic. A liege has duties towards the vassal and the vassal in turn owes the liege their loyalty , its not a one-way road.

The main point in having a vassal is to tax them in exchange for protection and letting them live on your lands. I’m thinking Richter may get a certain amount of points per week (which we know) but also a percentage of any points from other sources like killing other chaos seeds.

Taxes is a but part of what a landed lord, such as the kindir king, owe their liege-lord. Its the levy and the duties such as maintaining infrastructure within their lands that make up the bulk of it. Loyalty too of course. In return they are owed not just protection, but also justice, the enforcement of peace between lords, the expansion of infrastructure (roads, riverways being cleared up, water locks being built to make more of the waterways passable for larger boats enabling more trade and so on) and general economic stability.

If we are talking lesser unlanded vassals such as the chaos seed vassals he needs to become a true chaos lord, its likely they won't pay taxes at all, instead Richter will be paying for their upkeep. The main reason such are kept around is due to them either being well connected (that's how Richter gets stuck with shinecatcher no question IMHO) or they are useful in some way, often by being warriors.

I wonder... Do you think Richter could absorb Tier III energy, or is it only Tier II?

I'm thinking that it's likely that Richter will quite likely get back to the Mist Village before his Chaos Flux Quest comes to an end, because I think that the Quickening Fruit would give him something seriously good. Probably a Boost to his Soul? Maybe an increase to his Celestial Spark too?
Also I think that he might get a Mind Boost from Alma. (probably from something from her (scales?) but possibly just from conning into contact with her and reaffirming their Soul Bond).

Alma isn't tier two. She evolved but hasn't undergone an ascension.

Perhaps, but then again that might be their way of becoming Tier 2? And even if it's not then coming into contact with Richter might Trigger that in her through their Soul Bond, I guess time will tell.
