When I was reading this I was thinking, that they could turn those mass graves into a nice garden. HM has a great spell for that...and she probably uses it quite a bit on the great gross bodies she leaves in her wake.

what was this thread about again?

Nutrients is only a part of the contribution of the forest floor. As I said.

Providing ways to advance the specilisation. Which then turned into ways to produce oil and dp by abusing the sands. Its hardly the farthest we've been from the starting point. As the Dungeon can absorb excrement and presumably turn it into a fragment of a DP, it should be able to do so for other biological materials.

I like the idea of the shop opening (although I don’t remember that at all) and helping them get rooms and such.

An idea for feeding the dungeon, we could hung a bleeding deer on a rope like 1 meter above the dungeon sands. Easy way to attract predators and a nice trap. Same could be done for bugbears with some gold and coins in a bag or something similar +-

Blood smell can be carried I bet further... than sound.
However worth a try... I woud even go as far as using mistworkers to carry dead bleeding meat through the forest toward the dungeon. running mistworkers are like fish hooks

Drag, honestly I don’t know how leaves or oily crops such as rapeseed would help in the production of oil or gems in the sands. That reasoning is based on real world production of oils. I find it more plausible that items or creatures with a higher value of dungeon points would increase the production of oil and gemstones. I’m also curious as to how much of the absorbed energies do the sands retain for gems and oil. I find it reasonable that it will be similar to the lairs in the dungeon proper.

Sorry, it is off this thread topic. I’m not sure how we got here.

Edit: @Johan it seems like it evolved from talk of boosting the dungeon from having funerals or adding additional stuff to it from the sands. Which I agree should help it some.

Yeah and the rooms make stuff in the dungeon as well.

Well, we know the Genesis chamber creates chickens so yes.

Returning to the specialisation, have we talked about the darker options yet?

A slaver faction could stack up several thousand slaves before taking the specialization. An adventurer then gives them the mark so they count as adventurers - might be worth a little extra - after which they are forced into the Dungeon naked and weaponless.

Alternatively one could trap vast numbers of high-level monsters and throw them into the well of offerings. Again, the trapping would need to happen before the specialization is taken.

The Sands and Vines would be a convenient way of getting rid of Enemies Bodies (such as Goblins, BugBears, ect) that can't be broken down into useful Materials or Food. I highly doubt that they could be later Raised by Enemies as Undead after that, especially from the Sands.

Depending on the enemy yes. The goblins and bugbears should receive the same level of dignity they bestow on prisoners and fallen foes. Meaning none.

The trolls will pay for their dead and their gear. They will presumably reciprocate.

Has that really been proven that the spell book doesn't go away if you try and use it? I was under the impression that if you actually "used" the spell book, you only got one chance.
    upload_2021-2-20_19-40-51.png
I was thinking reading a spell book and using a spell book are two different things.
Was there someone who tried to use a book and failed without it being destroyed?

Maybe they can research Techs that allow them to learn magic without a master or spell book? Basic spell theory or its subsidiaries?

This refers to a magic user trying to learn a specific spell and failing which destroys the spellbook. Its also destroyed upon success.

If you don't have 50% affinity you cannot activate the spellbook at all.

It also doesn't get destroyed if you don't meet the level requirements for it, like when Richter was reading the high level death spell book. So research could be done on level 2 spell books and up for people without the skill unlocked. Alternately if they already know the spell that should also allow them to read the book without consequences though we haven't seen proof of that working yet.

Best ways to level up the Specialization & the Dungeon.

    History:
Dungeon reached lvl 2 mostly due to two human sacrifices +-
Dungeon reached lvl 2-3 mostly due to Labyrinth creature Hunt
    Dungeon reached :
    • LVL 4
    • LVL 5
    • LVL 6
    • LVL 7
    • LVL 8
    • LVL 9
    • LVL 10
    • LVL 11
    • LVL 12
    • LVL 13
    • LVL 14
due to portal usage and influx of an army and Exiles energies...

So how to Level up the specialization, based on past exp and most beneficial priorities:
    1. Open a Portal(Portal gate, Fey portal, Magical portal) to somewhere, collect a horde of beasts/Creatures/enemies(bugbears?, kobolds, goblins.. bugs, forest eating bugs) lead them to the portal, close the portal. Consume or parlay!!
    2. Hunt for Labyrinth Creatures in our Dungeon. With latest bonus this should be super profitable, use the beast attraction spell, same can be done with portals!
    3. Sacrifices of Creatures, Items, rare Blood etc... I would literally trade(sprite, dwarf, elf, Yves, Vamps, kndr..) for animals & entire hoards of beasts/sheep/deer/pigs/fish.. and sack them all to the dungeon.
      1. Now more innovative ways:
        1. If it works, sac blood of everyone, who is willing like 0.5l or so. Invite guest for this tradition hehe, don't forget the abbe ration blood and meat, if dp's are generated form this(significant dp's for say 1000 liters or so)
        2. Use dead carcasses to attract creatures over sands/wines.. use Mistworkers to carry bleeding meat towards the dungeon through the forest
        3. Use sound of the Siren rock to attract beasts
        4. Create the most powerful explosives with different energies to simulate the Exiles explosion in some corner of the dungeon.
        5. Create trap cages and collect beasts
        6. maximum usage of the dungeon by MV adventurers 24x7.
        7. Drop all the dead in the burial room in the Dungeon.
        8. Butchering and refuse rooms are placed in the Dungeon
        9. Try to acquire Wind Deamon, Hell Maulers Blood/ Litch body for obvious purposes. Hmm maybe place blood collecting traps in the Labyrinth?!
        10. Open a portal in the Orc lands to trade and get adventures in maybe.. maybe.. most def same with elfs and dwarfs
        11. Open a magical Portal in a lake in an enemies territory.. and Open the exit portal window upon the sacrificial hole or in the dungeon. even a minimal portal would be great if some fish would be near the entry point.
        12. Hire mercenaries to bring in Beasts and creatures! Or establish a trade caravans.
