I'm writing a LitRPG series set in a world called Aldrya by the elves. The MC and others, called Ascendants, experience the world as a VRMMO kind of game, with stats and at least some possibility of respawns. All the other inhabitants don't see stats and think of it merely as "the world." There is a poly/harem element (the MC sleeps with two female party members in the first book) and explicit sex. Progress so far: Began writing in January. First draft of book 1, "Ascendant of Aldrya," completed on March 7, 76,900 words. My original target date for finishing was based on 90K words and was May 24th, so I'm way ahead of my schedule. Working on the rewrite now after taking a short break, and have finished 3 of 14 chapters. Hope to have that completed by March 29, as I have a short vacation coming up. Then I'll run through it with ProWritingAid, and then go through and do a round of edits myself, before sending it off to an editor friend. I have some graphic art experience, so I'll see if I can come up with a cover I like on my own using Daz Studio. If not, I'll hire a cover artist. I've looked at premade covers and haven't seen any that do the "harem" signalling I'm looking for from a marketing POV, but I'll keep looking at that, too. I'm not too worried about having a target date for "on Amazon" at this point. I have an outline of the second book, and a few notes on the third. Hoping to start writing that in April. Writing is more fun than re-writing and editing, for sure. I'm taking the month of May off from work, so I'm anticipating making a lot of progress then, and I'm retiring in early July, after which I'll have twice as much time to write. It seems not too unrealistic to think I could have all three books written by the end of the year, and at least two published.
