Yeah, the fluff can be terrible sometimes. Dude has a million ideas and really doesn’t need any passing for his books.
He was supposedly going to have the audiobook come out at the same time so I had assumed that meant the book was basically done. Maybe his audiobook guy told him to do a better job and he listened.
I just imagine him saying, "I am not narrating this shit. Fix it or you can get Bobcat Goldthwait to do it"
I'm just hoping we get it by the end of fall this year, since he hasn't released any book since jan last year.
To be fair, Aleron released a book in december. Admittedly not the book I wanted, but a book nonetheless. 6-8 months to a year is not a bad rate of release for an author. Aleron has a tendency to overpromise instead of overdeliver.
I think he still thinks it’s his first year or so writing books. For whatever reason he pumped ‘em out then. He doesn’t have the excuse of going to conventions. I’m assuming it’s doctor stuff keeping him busy. The man has to have made enough money to give up all other work but I guess he likes being an active doctor.
He said a while ago in his Amazon author video that he's writing full time now, so the medical practice isn't his excuse. Plus, in a the Facebook video that he delayed the book 9 release he said that he has no trouble writing or coming up with stories. Who knows what the REAL reason for the delays are..............but I'm still leaning towards book-groupies.
Really? Writing full time but can’t make the release dates? Ouch. Maybe he’s working on too many (for him) projects.
Or maybe he just needs to accept one book a year is pretty good for planned releases, with the occasional extra book getting released as a surprise. I know some authors cram out a book every couple months, but those are usually not high quality/ high complexity books which seems to be that Aleron is going for.
I’m thinking he had a book that was complete (ie the early 2021 release date)... I think maybe after seeing reaction of book 8 and Gods Eye he may have took it to heart and realized book 9 was “long winded” too. Attempt to fine tune it and eventually scrapped it completely and restarted. Clearly I don’t know anything, but considering his post on the last comic roll out I don’t think the book is anywhere near complete. Which is fine by me, get it right and shut your haters up.
I was posted on Facebook today that "book 9 - delayed due to it being quite a bit longer than expected, date tbd"
I really love these books and even though there are tons of mistakes and changes and pages of lists I love the twist and never ending stories. As long as it doesn’t get worse than 8 it’s all fine. I actually liked 8 as well, even when nothing happened! Just give me the book till the end of the year and tell us more about the village and more than 10 days. All will be fine
