Doing other things. We have gods eye 2, the comic, and a third book (side story?)
Whoopty dooo on the comic book and I’m not that interested in gods eye. A third book is only the 12 distraction. That’s what he really needs another distraction.
Oh I agree entirely. Gods eye was an interesting diversion but not really all that exciting, the comic is just garbage. If it wasn’t a retelling of the same story I might find it more interesting. I will be happy to give this new book a shot, especially if it is a one shot. Might learn a some interesting about the land. It is not however something I am looking forward to. Book 9 is.
I asked one of his core people to see when he’d start new chapters on the patreon. I figured it was a more roundabout way of asking when the new book will happen.
After 9 books, you cant lose momentum, actually ~ 18 books with audible.
Also he has just finished releasing 16th chapter of the comics.. so this shit is onnn
Also hes making a a comic based movie/anime../audiobook...
plus translations of his books to asian languages, and anime is probably to hit those markets too..stll if he really want to take asia, might spend another 2 mo on this task, its ~70-80% done..
I was about to write a lengthy reply but I’ll abridge. Basically everything you said is either wrong or irrelevant.
NOW That is funny.
you have no idea what you are talking about yongin
AK. Could write a BILLION books, and sell 0. ZERO.
He is a business man and he is doing marketing ~50% of his time minimum now. amongst other projects. You can easily write a shit book in 2-3 months. decent in 4-6 mon. great in 6m +.. but that means nothing if you have no sales.
Now the comic is live, this means he has another 20-40 chapters done and will be releasing them monthly.. so his current workload is this:
sales/marketing/translation of books to Asian languages/markets 10% his time management of this stuff
Gods eye 2(5% of his time)
Book 9 ~15% of his time
comic 5-15% even tho its done hes making a anime/movie now from it..
Merch sales 10%
(board game? netflix/tv series? new book series? other stuff he's not basic you know.. )
so 30% book remaining, this is 3 mo at 15% => release in 2022 July. AK still claims to write book 9 everyday, however just the editing of book 7 took ~ 6 mo +- or more.. without any amazon delays
So in essence another George R.R. Martin? Sorry but no one wants another author who won't finish his story. Also a sure way to lose all of your fans, a trickle at a time. Like I don't even care about Martin's books anymore.
Where are you getting these numbers regarding AK's time management?
The air I believe
The Nether Realms, where the Suns light can't reach.
No way, dude. He doesn’t need that much marketing. He’s already sold a ton and maintained a fan base. You think Brandon Sanderson is spending 50% of his time marketing? Also, that’s why Kong should hire people to do a lot of this for him. So he can focus on writing, not going to conventions.
AK posted an update an hour saying "Still hoping for a year end release of Mayhem. Working hard every day. " The grammar in this post does not fill me with confidence regarding the quality of the coming book.
I also hope a december 2022 release XD
When words have no meaning.
At this point, I don’t see how he can release the book this year. The wheels would already have to be in motion and there would be no lead up time. Maybe a months notice? Feels like lip service while this drags on endlessly.
I agree. He should already be releasing early chapters to his Patreon followers by now if he was going to be done by the end of the year AND He should have announced that he was in the editing process with his beta readers a month ago if he was remotely close.
Of course, given the tons of typos and grammatical errors his books STILL have in them I doubt he uses his betas for anything but praise.
If he doesn’t post a chapter in the next week he is either going to skip early chapters or release next year. Publishing on Amazon is not like publishing with a company. They don’t review or edit anything. It’s like a day from upload to sale or something. Bureaucratic crap.

but seriously, f7 the document and it would still be better than the beta readers
