We'll be able to make you resist stealing all our gold if we get ahold of the controller device. Just sayin'! ;p
I wouldn't mind using the technology in theory, if I believed that I was in control with no backdoors for companies/government and that it was unhackable. Neither of which is likely to ever be the case.
If the implant is just a gloriefiedinterface for the computer, I'm game. Sounds like DARPA is already working on expanding Jose Delgado's mind control chips. Robots are always a better idea than trying to mind control GI Joe.
I read somewhere recently about tests on mood-altering implants. Military maybe? Can't remember where.
Maybe it's just me, but I have a deeply visceral repulsion to having something stuck in me. Having to drains attached to me after surgery last year was horrifically distressing, to the point I had a hard time eating enough not to be light-headed. Maybe if a brain interface was something wearable I'd consider it, but not if it required being implanted in my body.
If they pay for it,the surgery and give me a salary,so my family can get the cash, specifically in case it goes wrong, sure I might like it but more worried about those not 'in the game'.
