No I mean to write book 9 and others using d&d system. F.E. Richto fights Litch, and has a 20% chance to "Diplomacy" the wind Deamon. So AK rolls a online dice with a 20% success rate to sees if Richto wins this roll. Then Rolls a similar counter for Deamons Anger. And then Deamon either attacks Richto or Litch or noone or flies away... or attacks bouth. Now we simply get a default auto success on every Richto action including those who are very very iffy... he kinda started doing a bit more of this in book 8, where he simply rolled to see how much stuff does Richto get from Harvest.
That might be interesting. Get a group of authors together with a DM who already has a wellcrafted campaign/ primary storyline and have the various authors rolj for whether something good or bad happens and then the authors figure out what happens based on their rolls. On a nat 20 the characters get amazing luck, on a nat 1 level 30 characters get trapped by a bunch of level 3 goblins and lose a couple members to sheer stupidity. Double nat either would be world breaking luck or party wipes.
It occurs to me that if his Cooking Skill gets high enough that that might help to Mitigate Mana Toxicity from using Magic Fire to Cook with, similarly to how a high Level in Cooking is likely to help with Cooking Beasts/Creatures that are naturally Mana Toxic due to their natural high Magic in them. It's also possible that a high enough Level in Cooking might give certain (Sub)-Skills that help with Cooking and preparing edible food with little to no heat? Once Richter gets back to the MV (or somewhere else with the right Items available) he should get some Salt, Spices & Herbs, cooking Oil and assorted travel Fruits/Veggies and preserved Meats, also a few Cooking Pans, Pots, portable Grill & Meat Skewer, Smoke Box, ect, and some Charcoal &/or Magic Heat Producing Item, and put them in his Bag of Holding for future Cooking needs. Also put some emergency Rations and Travel Snacks in his Pouch of Holding as well.
Possibly. I expect these to be knowledge based skills though, especially the subskills. Richter's limitless affinity opens the door, but he still has to learn. Rations are always a good idea, but in this case Richter handed over his bag with an expectation that he wouldn't survive.
Ricther, needs to learn to throw the water out and start over. Like cooking Polk Weed. His self character might be from the south but he is still a city boy.
Which is why he needs to keep a small backup Pouch of Holding on him with Basic Emergency Items in it so that he still has something if he is separated from his Bag again, with either the one he has created or another that he creates later. Either way he should still Give a Pouch to Sion.
It doesnt matter the conversation that lead to it but that comment should never be in a Cooking thread
Cooking should not just allow you safely prepare Food that is free from Disease, Parasites and Poison but Grant Buffs and Benifits that while weaker then Spells are much longer lasting and have more varied effects.
Wonder if different Cooking Methods count as Sub-Skills, for instance Sub-Skill for Baking, Grilling/Barbeque, Frying, Pickling, Roasting, ect. Or would it be for Cooking Methods of different Races(?), although I suspect for most that would more likely Cooking Techniques the Sub-Skills, unless it's particularly unusual methods or for very different Races (demons, lillithids, Spirit races, ect)?
A magic animal feed cooking sub-skill that feels like it fits with the skills we have seen. Where you cook feed for animals/monsters you are raising to give them bonus effects. like the asengi spider eggs do
He needs to get some Recipes, start carrying Cooking Equipment, Seasons & Spices and some Cooking lessons.
