I'm well into a new GameLit novel. I hope to be finished writing by mid-January, and then edited, covered, and published by EOM. Cross your fingers.
Thanks. Today I've tossed out Chapter 1. It was all wrong for the way the book turned. I have to start from scratch. Ack! Though, not unusual since I didn't really know what the book was going to be about when I started. But I hate writing chapter ones.
I'm up to chapter 20 of an expected 30 chapter novel. Going slow. I had hoped to publish in Jan, but it'll be at least Feb.
It was a grind, me lords and ladies. But just typed THE END. Whew. Maybe I'll take the weekend off before diving into rewrites/edits.
Man, I've read through this book so many times during the rewrites and edits, that now I'm going, "Wait, did I mention that fact somewhere else in the book?" You don't want to repeat something over and over, unless it is very important. So I have to do a search of the book. Yeah, I'm ready to publish this puppy. Still, I have to finish this last read thru.
I have made up, but I don't keep track of where and how many times I mention a thing or fact. I have a "glossary" with all characters, places, magical objects, creatures, etc, etc, etc.... (To paraphrase Yul Brenner).
