I haven't seen or heard of Yoshi using a Bow in any of the Books, and so I am wondering if the reason for that is because he is a Half-Sprite-Half-Human and so may not have inherited the ability to use the Sprite Racial Skill of Imbue Arrow? And so he focused all of his time in Mastering the Sprite Sword Art instead of using the Bow. What do you think.
Nope yoshi has never picked up a bow in the books nor has any reference to him doing so been made. I just assumed his affinities for archery was lacking. Either do to his mix race heritage or he is just one of the seemingly rare sprites that can’t really learn the bow.
Low affinity might be the answer as well. If you have less than 50% affinity its a waste of time to pursue it. Affinities define what you do. Or perhaps a natural 100% affinity for short blades? Theories: 1) The affinity bar actually goes past 100%, but 100% is the max shown and for which rewards are given. That explains why some people with 100% affinity cap out long before level 100 while others keep going. 2) Also, skill books cost more affinity per level than learning it on your own. That means using a skillbook cripples your potential for reaching the highest levels possible for your 3) You can keep levelling your main skill below 50% affinity by using a subskill to grind skill exp. This way a smith could train his smithing until his affinity reaches 50% and then train dense forging until that skill runs out of affinity, grinding skill exp for both.
Good idea about how to use the Sub-Skills to Level up a Skill beyond where you could normally do so. In the cases of people with a Magic Affinity beyond 100% (above 110%+) that might trigger a spontaneous Awakening of the Magic Skill in them, it was sort of hinted a few times that some people don't need to Awoken by other Mages to become Magic Users, but this would incredibly rare.
Pretty sure it was stated that 75% and up can have a spontaneous awakening of magic. Not a guarantee like above 100% but above 100 needs outside intervention like a quickening fruit. Richter had one with blood magic. Probably would be situational for the most part.
Just thought of another way for Richter to get the Zootonmy Skill, Richter could find a Sprite with the Zootonmy Skill at the Hearth Tree (say when he goes there to Cleanse the Dark Abomination Crystals with Hisako) and then create a Level 1 Zootonmy Skill Book and then use it himself to get the Skill.
Another factor in spontaneous Awakening of Magic Skills might not just be the Magic Skill Affinity amount but also what their innate Secondary Stat of their Base Magic Strength and other Secondary Magic Stats might be?
I don't think that Richter had had Randy wear the Mapping Ring yet, if I'm wrong please tell me. He should ask for Randy to wear the Ring to get more Map information. And for that matter he should ask the Traders of the White Pearl to get another two Mapping Rings for Randy and Torrad, better yet three so he has a spare and ask them if the Travellers Guild makes Tiny Mapping Rings (or other Items) for Tiny creatures. Maybe he can get a Mapping Item for Elora?
He did but not since gaining him as a companion. At least it was implied that he did. Randy being one of Ritchers go to people and all. While it’s possible he just walked up to joe random guy and asked him to put on the ring, I very much doubt that’s what happened. He just doesn’t seem the type.
It was mentioned when both Terrod and Sion put on the ring. No reason that it shouldn't have been mentioned if Randy did. Also would it re-size for Elora? Could she put it around her waste like a hula hoop?
Not with current talents no, but if he went about improving them, far enough no reason we've seen he shouldn't be able to eventually.
Re-listening to the series, I hope in book 9 we find out what the powerful reward is Richter gets for finding (killing) the 4th pixie.
It's going to be an enchanted earring of the dead pixie's head that whispers in his ear while he sleeps, "I was just a baby, why did you kill me? why did you let Caulder die? Randolphinius is going to cut off your **** again if you call him Randy one more time. That itch the twins gave you is going to start burning soon...... "
As far as i kno the official news is early this year, from when u ask fb. Got this message "What up David! I'm working away on it, hoping to have it ready soon "
That still sounds like BS to me. "Early" means first quarter, which is up in 5 days, and he hasn't even released the cover art yet. If he ACTUALLY intended to release it last year or the year prior as he originally claimed, he would have commissioned that artwork ages ago. I think that he's had major writer's block and doesn't want to admit it.
