With the awakening of the place of power, monsters are supposedly able to evolve, level and breed far faster than normally. Would this be the case for eaters within the village boundaries as well? I know the main hive likely isn't affected, but localised infections could be growing more powerful. What do you guys think? An uintended consequence? Also, could the eater have decimated the orcs/ other underground factions that aren't as powerful as the kobolds/ goblins?
You might end up seeing some new variants of Eaters but most should remain the same. And depending on where the UnderDark Settlements are then many (at least those within their hunting territory) might have been hit hard, so many might have/or are migrated/ing from them if they couldn't successfully right then back. This could mean that those who are forced to leave may try and go to Allies or Neutral groups, and they might end up getting into conflict with other groups as they travel, or they might try and make for the Surface. But it does mean while some of them might be a source of trouble for the Mist Village or other settlements that they might also be a source of possible future Vassals, Allies or settlers/townsfolk for the MV.
Unless the Nest is in Richters Domain then the number that is altered by the Ambient Mana Shouldn't be particular High.
Alright I've been trying to think of what they could use against them. Basically its a swarm of weak bugs that overwhelm with numbers. They need AOE attacks, preferrably at range. Arrows dual enchanted with a converted fireball and lightning ball could work pretty well. Ideally arrows with these enchantments would keep the exploding AOE properties and you end up with groups of stunned bugs stuck in fire. Pair it with enchanted bows of multishot and enhanced imbue arrow and they should be able to do some serious damage.
Not just AoE attacks but also something that either Lingers or can be controlled it directed during use. Poison Gas or Acid Cloud, Fire Cloud, Frost Cloud, ect, like attack Spells might prove very useful, fumigate those Bugs, although you'd either need to make sure your allies aren't exposed to it or have are way to resist or immunity to the effects. Chain or Leaping Spells would also be effect, like Chain Lightning or Leaping Flames. As would Acid Pool, Magma Pool, ect, or other Spells like Rending Talons or Ground Spike Field. And of course Fireball, Bursting Acid Ball, Frost Ball, Lightning Ball and Sticky Ball Spells, although a need to be careful is a Must in any confined space for any of these and other AoE Spells.
Love it. Wands of grease spells, fireball spells, rending talons, lightning ball, etc.. time to put those magically active trees to use!
I would like the tar spell. Maybe a low rank version. Insects seem to do alright over the grease as long as it isn't on fire.
