8 books in and we finally have some potential uses besides "sharp stick" to speculate on for this fey metal! According to the litch, elementum is one of the most magically active metals in existence, but we had no information on why that was important until book 8. The two uses hinted at so far are: Golem Capable of containing shield enchantment Two obvious questions right off the bat: A. What type and rank of golem can be created? (reminder: golem ranks are: Inferior, Lesser, Minor, Intermediate, Advanced, Major, Greater, Grand, and Supreme) B. What other enchantments can only be placed on magically active materials?
My guess is he can create up to a Grand rank golem in either fire, water, earth, or air. Enchantments requiring magically active materials are likely anything level 3 or higher. Any deeper magic or higher energy enchantments.
A super golem could be a major asset given that Richter and MV are basically in the ass kicking business. But if he can make 3 Grand rank elementum golems without using a core then might as well do that and save the core for the library. That said, I see no reason why he couldnt use the core on an elementum golem. It could turn into something comparable in power to the mythril golem he mentioned from the game. Better yet, he could wait until he gets more settlement points and try making mythril in the mine again, then actually make a mythril golem. The problem is that, with the way its been described, making a golem with mythril or elementum wouldnt actually produce a golem made of that material if done via enchanting. Its possible he could use the core directly as the source to pour his mana into and produce a golem. In any case I think it'd be sweet for him to have a handful of super strong golems for his villagers to 'rent' while they dungeon dive.
I would like to think they should be made into rings. They could hold some seriously powerful Enchantments. But he probably can't make them. Second choice...wands. there might not need to be inscriptions on them like the rings. Plus they can hold loads of Mana and a powerful spell.
He could tame one of those metal bears that eat metal. Let it obtain metal claws and put powerful active Enchantments on each claw.
Or he could find a Tier 2 version and kill and Absorb it and Maybe get the capability to Sense and Eat Metal and Integrate it into himself to get stronger Nails, Teeth and maybe Bones? It would not just make him more dangerous and tougher but might allow him to Enchant those Metalised parts of himself? Wonder if there's are way to Temporary Enchant things? Might be very useful if there is. Say have Scrolls that can Add a Temporary Enchantment to a non enchanted weapon, it would allow for quickly generating an Enchanted Weapon keyed to that creatures weaknesses, assuming you have a good selection if Enchantment option with you?.
So we have weapons, rings, golem, wands, and to argument a core building. I wonder if it could be used for magic bags or books as well.
I suspect that Metal Golems of any type are Very Hard to make, and the higher the type of Metal the harder to make, especially with non-Mechanical Golems. Although making a Golem from Elementium maybe an exception?
Don't doubt it, crown it! But the way it could be with metal is: have a really large amount of metal/ tons af ambient mana You have to make a metal construct, only then you can make a golum out of it.
