The one I'm looking forward to is Altered Carbon, based on Richard Morgan's cyberpunk novels.

"In the futuristic story, the human mind has been digitized and the soul is transferable from one body to the next. Takeshi Kovacs, a former elite interstellar warrior known as an Envoy who has been imprisoned for 500 years, is downloaded into a future he had tried to stop. If he can solve a single murder in a world where technology has made death nearly obsolete, he’ll get a chance at a new life on Earth."

Everyone is scrambling to dust off options they bought from authors in the hopes of pulling off the next GoT level success story of a TV show.

Most of them are going to fail miserably though, if only because what they're adapting are *old* books. Things that they'll never be able to get right in the eyes of the fans, and will be compared unfavorably against the 800lb gorilla that is Game of Thrones. So the critics will pan it, word of mouth will pan it, and it's a long shot whether or not there'll be even a single gem in the lot.

Saddest thing is, after this grand experiment fails, tv producers being tv producers will just go back to filling the airwaves with as much cheap "reality" nonsense as they can.
