Cheers from Yaounde, Cameroon, I'm an American expat living in Africa who has been lurking on the forums for a few days now and have just gotten enough time to actually post my introduction. My name is Dan Cawley and I started reading litRPG in the early nineteen nineties with Joel Rosenberg's Guardians of the Flame series and then more recently the Otherland series by Tad Williams and then Ready Player One if you consider that one litRPG. Of course I hadn't heard of the sub-genre until last week! I am very excited since I have written my own novel that fits the general genre definition...depending on who you talk to apparently. I'm hoping to publish my novel in the near future via amazon, but I'd love to have a few beta readers assist with grammer and basic edits (specifically comma splices and run-ons which I somehow don't notice). Anyway, I'm excited to read more in the genre as I just devoured Bagwell's Awaken Online book one!
Hi and welcome! My favorite part in Awaken Online was when Jason went into construction mode and learned to construct his bone minions. ^^ Good stuff! sings: "I bless the rains down in africaaaaa"
Welcome to the party! I had to look at a map to find Cameroon, pretty sure the little star means you're in the nations capital. After doing that I realized I could have googled it. But... why have maps if you're never going to look at them. Good luck with your novel!
Welcome! I'm as green around these parts as you, but man is this place immersive. I just signed up as a beta reader here (purchased the sword and all), so depending on when you ask for readers and how long of a turn-around you need, I'd be more than happy to help.
Hello and welcome wordrew! Here you will find your fill of LitRPG love from writers and fans alike! I hope life is treating you awesomely.
Welcome! Awaken Online was a treat, I preferred the second book because there was character consistency in it. The MC is interesting and I just love a good arc story (more so a villain's arc!) Best of luck to you with your book!
Welcome! I am also from Africa - South Africa though Travis Bagwell is a kick-ass writer. I am looking forward to the third installment.
That is a nice powerful name isn't it? Hah, you're welcome to use it even if it's not mine! Thanks everyone for the greetings! I'm enjoying perusing the site, hope that it explodes with new people and we can say we got in on the ground floor. That's about all the exclamation points I can handle in one post, but I am excited about the possibility of learning about different books and doing some beta reading and having my own creation looked at.
