Hello everyone! I joined up yesterday and got myself situated. I've already read up on a number of interesting threads and hope to contribute a few of my own someday. For as long as I can recall, there have been two things I've really liked: video games and writing. 14 years ago, I built a writing community called LegendFire and ran it for 6 years. It's where I got my first real writing experience. Going from no experience to having thousands of writers correct the typos in announcement posts... great way to learn fast! About 7 years ago, I developed an Xbox 360 game called 7Strains. It sold a few hundred copies, though nothing much. I designed another ten or so games after investing hundreds of hours studying game design. These games never materialized. I found the job of building a video game to be too difficult for one person, and I'm too much of a control freak to work with others. Too many hats to wear: design, development, art, 3D modeling, sound design, music... the list went on. It was about that time I started playing with the idea of stories that took place in game worlds. I could use my experience in game development, and my passion in writing to create something new. And, writing is often a one-man job (outside of editing and marketing). I read and watched anything I could get my hands on that related to video games as the foundation for the story. Things that explored full immersion virtual reality. It was hard finding what I was looking for at the time, though now with LitRPG, I'm finding it everywhere. I'm working to release my first LitRPG and hope to have it ready in the next few months. It's the first book of a duology. And from there, I have planned a battle-arena LitRPG that swaps up a bunch of the accepted tropes. Excited to be here. Hope to dive into some great discussions with the lot of you. Thanks for having me.
If I recall correctly, you have a massive backlog. I think I'll take my time... I'm moving this weekend, then it's writing full time. I'm sure you'll be one of the first to know when the book is available.
Welcome to the asylum, grab a white 'hug-me' jacket to wear when your a fan and a nerf bat to keep the jacket wears in line when your a writer. Oh, and welcome.
Ah man, I thought I had escaped! Out the gate when the clock struck midnight. It was alleyways and shadows for hours. Hours! Turned one wrong corner, took the wrong pill, and now they're fitting me to another of those warm-hugging white ja... hey! I'm not crazy! Give me a bat.
They're made from Elves. I'm not sure I would try them! ;p https://litrpgforum.com/threads/big-hello-from-a-level-0-newb.384/#post-2554
Added the link...long story! Haha. https://litrpgforum.com/threads/big-hello-from-a-level-0-newb.384/#post-2554
Naa, you don't want sugar or honey with elf bits......best with BBQ sauce or maybe ketchup......... or fava beans and a nice Chianti. Welcome. You could be a taste things to come!
According to A Trolls Guide to Proper Diet, elves are listed as a vegetable. So, technically, They Are the equivalent fava beans.
Now I'm thinking of how I can use Elf bits in my green smoothies. Can I order dried Elf bits? Put them up there next to my chia and flax seeds.
