no, i'd give you $5 to make text to speech your audiobook lol... (not really, that would ruin the book tbh...) I honestly don't think text2speech will take over narrators anytime soon... there's just too much of an uncanny valley in the voices and even the most advanced ones that are done by AI are imperfect... you only need one mistake every 250 words to ruin it...
Yeah, just ask Siri to tell a joke. And can you imagine how hilariously terrible it would be at fantasy names? Like seriously - one of the characters in the book I’m writing with Windfall is named Lar’iel’liaN’u’shan’naen (yeah, it’s a parody). Run that through TTS? I’m honestly curious how that would sound.

It’s lampooning the trope of fantasy elf names being long, incomprehensible, and containing apostrophes (seriously, whoever started the apostrophe-in-fantasy-names trend needs to go away). There will be some diacritical marks added, I just haven’t decided which. Maybe I’ll throw an Ø or something in there too.
