So hello all. I've written some stuff that is on the edges of LitRPG, and have been considering diving in deeper. Part of the reason I'm here is that I was told this was the place to go to discuss a certain person engaging in certain activities that may have legal ramifications for us all. In short, I'm willing to pony up some cash, anyone know a decent trademark attorney who isn't overly priced? Cause yeah, I'm pretty annoyed at all this crap. True, it's only a supplementary mark (or something like that) not a full one yet, but I just think some things should be nipped in the bud. -John Van Stry aka Jan Stryvant
Welcome aboard. Got you added to the @LitRPG Author group. We're glad to have you here. Don't forget the shops --> https://litrpgforum.com/dbtech-shop/ And lemme know if you have any questions.
I've got a recommendation for a local trademark attorney, but I've not talked to him yet. I'm in the Midwest. Do you know @Dawn Chapman, perhaps?
The look interesting. I need to get to bed here, it's very late and I really need to get back to work tomorrow. Got a book to write
I don’t like modern paranormal romance, etc. On paper they’re a collection of a lot of things I don’t like, so by all rights I shouldn’t like them. But for some reason, I do like them. They remind me of a fairly good campaign set in the White Wolf games RPG setting (Mage, Werewolf, et al.). And hey at least there’s no vampires or zombies, I guess? Please tell me there won’t be vampires or zombies.
I'm trying to figure out which of my series you're talking about. The Hammer Commission has vampires, but they're not the all powerful kind of thing that you see in modern movies (the stories I grew up with, vampires and werewolves were about equal in power level). Portals of Infinity, doesn't have vampires or zombies. The Valens legacy series may have vampires at some point, but I honestly haven't decided how to do that. I'm a bit burned out on vampires and zombies as well. But hey, lots of people read Anderle and his heroine is a vampire, so who knows
The Valens Legacy. I’ve actually been avoiding Anderle because the people recommending the Kurtheriam Gambit books have been saying “it’s like vampires in space, but good!” And I’m like “nah, no such thing.” I’ve read a couple of the books set in the shared universe though, but the ties between authors in the ... what is it called? Kurtherverse maybe? Ierno. Anyway, the different series settings have very little to do with each other beyond a shared history.
Yeah, I wonder how much he charges people to write in his Universe. Great work if you can get it I guess. And Thanks for the welcome!
Hey, Welcome. I remember starting days of future past, have to put that back on the to be read list. Thanks for reminding me...my mind can be like a sieve. As you get older, memory is around the third thing to go, which isn't too bad, because it lets you forget what the first two were so you don't miss them.
