Hello everyone, I am new to LitRPG but it is something that has always crossed my mind and would have loved to read or write. I used to enjoy the books that gave you choices and used to make my own as a child. In recent years I have got serious about writing and I know it is something I need to do. I have read various non-fiction on the craft of writing and am looking to understand it more and get better. I mainly write fantasy, and science fiction, and historical fiction but one day I thought what about writing a story where characters level up?! I then stumbled upon a podcast on thestorygrid.com and learned about LitRPG and have decided to dive into it from there. I have played games most of my life so this seems like a perfect fit, I just need to integrate myself into a community and learn what I can about it!
Welcome! Glad you joined us. Let me know if you have any questions. Don't forget the shops! DragonByte Shop | LitRPG Forum
Thank you muchly, Yeah where the hell do I start? I'm looked in a few forums but I am still really confused! Will do
Hello Noah and thank you! I think I'll stick with you then . I'm strapped for time so I'll pop in and out of the site when I can. Trying to curb the 'resistance' as Steven Pressfield would say and go over a first draft instead of starting something new, again!
Cheers guys appreciate the welcome. Can tell this is a great community already. Nerds who play together stay together . Also I'm going to be looking for a writing buddy (my current WIP is not LitRPG) where could I find such fellows or fellowettes?
You could start up a thread asking. Best place is probably the Aspiring Writers' Guild? We also have a group on Facebook and a Discord. The Discord might also work for finding someone for Word Sprints or other help.
