Howdy! (as is expected for Texans to say and we are fine with that) I'm female and in her 40's. I discovered GameLit LitPRG about a year and a half-ago or at least solidified my knowledge of it. Before I was also semi-vaguely aware of it as a concept but usually they were one-off events. e.g. A show where someone's in a video game, or movies you didn't really think of as having game mechanics until later. Some comics from the early 80's use video game characters/monsters quite a bit. Even if it was gamey, I didn't think too much about it. It was 'nice' and I moved on. I started hearing more about it, and then realized how cool it is. Books I like: The Dresden Files, Anita Blake, Monster Hunter International, the John Cleaver "I am not a Serial Killer" series, The Hallows, Southern Vampire series, and a smattering of LitPRG of course. RPG Games: GURPS and Marvel Superheros. Love reading about RIFTS but never played. Shows: Joe Bob's Movie Drive-in, Barry, The Boys, The Good Place. Movies: Love Andy Sidaris movies, and horror movies about Slashers. I grew up during the Golden age of Slashers. Comics: Fantastic Four, Mark Miller's stuff, Transmetropolitan, Junji Ito. There's probably stuff I'm leaving out, but I'm on my first cup of coffee. I have two draft stories I hope to publish soon. I would love to be added to the @LitRPG Author forum if possible.
