It kinda does make me sound like a politician, doesn't it? But no, I'm too much of an anarchist for that. Maybe when I'm older and I've calmed down somewhat. Alas, my name is not Bruce - I always liked that name though. My favourite shark is called Bruce. DJ, be my guest
OK me ducks, it goes like this. Back in olden times, people believed in the right-hand path of truth, honesty and righteousness. The left-hand path was for sinners, criminals, heretics and deviants. So it was with humour. Before the post war revolution, humour was all about supporting established pathways, (wife jokes, mother in law, fat men/women etc ad nausiem). Then along came the Goon Show, followed by one or two others (including the wonderful Bob Newheart) who managed to point out the ridiculousness of the established humour mores. These brave hearts kind of broke the ground for the complete anarchy of The Pythons. Incidentally, the Pythons have been variously described as criminals (banned in some regimes), sinners, heretics (denounced by churches, temples etc.) and deviants. They cocked a snook at every institution, state, government, military, academic, business you name it, they ridiculed it. But, and this is the main point, they did it in a very, very, very silly way. I would never shun nor knowingly patronise you, Felicity.
I would knowing and willing patronize her, if what she was selling was good enough to warrant me being a patron..... err wait did you mean the other definition of patronize? Either way I wouldn't shun her.
You do know the end of the universe has been foretold right? It is the day Chuck Norris gets fed up with mortality and kicks death between the legs.
