    A mages tower could have a casting chamber, a mana storage unit, a summoning circle, a divining chamber, and maybe an enchanters table or a crafting table.

    I just assume those would be possibilities for a mages tower. I suppose it would really matter what type of mage was building the tower. What type of powers or abilities would that mage have. I would think a castors chamber and a mana storage device would be a certainty.

    Basically yes, except I imagined the addons would be core buildings as well. Similar to the way a bank sucks up 4 cores to provide its array of services.

    Initially a tower might provide no more than a core casting chamber (the heart of the tower so to speak), a regular library with no books, workrooms for various magical work and alchemy (redundant with the cauldron), some thick core walls and a reinforced core doorway that's easily defensible. A tower is by nature a defensive structure after all.

    Hopefully the tower reaches a decent height with emplacements for a few catapults and archers as well. Maybe said emplacement requires alteration points? I would place the tower next to the Dungeon, in order to take advantage of its defences and in easy reach of the biggest source of magical ingredients, tools, weapons and spells around.
