I love the old shows, but have any of you ever tried going back and watching from the beginning? It’s so low budget and old looking due to the production technology available at the time compared to now. I also wouldn’t mind seeing a Farscape remake, but I thing SG has more staying power.
Anyone notice how the hero leads in Stargate Atlantis (my fave series) and Farscape are similar in a lot of ways? Have you watched the old-timey one they did about them first discovering the gates? I have not yet.
I really want to with SG-1, but it's no longer available on Netflix or any of our other streaming programs. *shakes fist to the heavens* Actually still not finished with Atlantis, and just watched The Ark of Truth the other day (which really sated my need for some SG-1 goodness).
Stargate Universe (the one with Robert Carlyle) was the only one of the franchise that I liked. The others the cheese factor was just too damn high. I was choked when they cancelled it.
Did you try Hulu? Don't know what country you're in but I can still do Stargate SG-1 and Atlantis on Hulu.
I'm in Canada, so it's not available on any streaming service for me, only to rent or buy from the Apple/Microsoft stores. (Which...nope, not gonna happen. If I buy it it'll be the DVD box set.)
It seems like a rare thing for a remake to capture the same magic as the original, even if the special effects are improved. Stargate SG 1, for me was more the characters far more than the effects.
