. . . mainly because I can't think of anything interesting to say. Well, then. I'm Viergacht. I'm an ex-American living in South Africa (just outside of Cape Town). I'm a freelance illustrator, and currently work making premade book covers for self-publishers. I have far too many cats to be entirely sane. I love movies, the cheesier the better, and monsters both unreal (werewolves!) and real (dinosaurs!). Eclectic taste in music (right now I'm listening to a lot of power metal and electro-swing), like black olives, mushrooms and pepperoni on my pizza, dress like a hobo, favorite color is purple, prefer winter to summer, been teaching myself gardening and cooking, kinda lonely. I'm a HUGE bibliophile, and my interests have always skewed towards speculative fiction - fantasy, horror, sci-fi - and role-playing games. I began seeing LitRPG showing up in my Amazon suggestions and got interested because it reminds me of playing tabletop games and portal fantasies, and often has a sort of grand, epic fantasy feel that isn't in vogue right now (I don't really care for the grim, low-magic, "realistic" fantasy that's popular atm). I haven't published a book, but I do enjoy writing and have several short stories published here and there, most recently in the Werewolves Versus zines. Feel free to ask any questions, I might answer them seriously.
Lovely introduction : ) I approve of your pizza toppings. What got you into illustrating? What is your favorite piece of art or cover you've created so far?
It's hard to choose, but it would probably be a toss-up between Bill Kieffer's "The Goat" and Clare Bell's "Clan Ground". Bill was someone I knew casually about 12 years ago, and when he published his first book he was insistent he wanted me as the cover artist, and he did an incredible amount of detective work to track me down through screen name changes. It was the most heartwarming flattery I've ever gotten! And Clan Ground was a novel that came out in the 80's that I was a huge fan of. I'd written some fan letters to Ms. Bell when I found she had an online presence and was pretty floored when she asked me to covers for the book series reprint.
It's impossible to pickpocket while facepalming. Unless seduction skill is used as a base for the possibility of facepalm pickpocketing? There will come a time when I will be sane. Wait, it was 2:45 pm EST on October 31 in 1992. I had 12 minutes of sanity. Well, that time has come and gone. Carry on.
