Hey, everyone! Glad to be a part of these forums. I love the RPGness of them! Reminds me of the old PHPBB forums back in the day that had the Gamer integration in them Always makes for a fun and addicting experience! As for me, I go by R.M. Prioleau. I'm a fantasy author and all-around geek. I discovered LitRPG sometime last year when I listened to the SF&F Podcast. Never knew such a genre existed, and now I'm currently writing my own LitRPG Story. I love RPGs and I love fantasy, so this is pretty much the best of both worlds for me I've been published since 2011. My first book is a novella entitled The Necromancer's Apprentice. You can check out more of my books in my sig. Most of my stories are based on actual characters I've played in D&D campaigns, or in MMOs. I love to game. I'm an old school gamer and enjoy classics like the Dragon Quest series, Breath of Fire series, and Terranigma. The more recent games I enjoy are the Assassin's Creed games and Black Desert Online. I'm almost always on Steam. I've mastered the art of multitasking by dictating my book while I play games @_@ Pleased to meet all of ya!
I can't write unless I'm in complete silence... And over here, we have this guy playing games and writing a book at the same time! Color me jealous. Welcome! Good to have you.
LOL! Well my secret to "play-writing" is that I have to do something mindless in game so I'm not thinking about strategies and all that, which leaves my brain concentrating on the story I'm 'writing' even though it's also enjoying the game. So mostly gathering or fighting super-easy enemies. lol and wow, I can't believe all the names I recognize in this thread from hearing on the LitRPG Podcast!
Lots of authors here. @Paul Bellow should let you into the Authors forum, since you've written a book. Always nice having another author to discuss topics with.
Welcome to the insanity. Ignore the warning on cookies, the best kind come from small gnomes that summon a magical well that dispenses them. They are made fresh from the souls of those who have fallen into the endless cycle of LITRPG goodness.
