Any experience with Rogue or any of these other games?
    • Hack (1982)
    • Moria (1983)
    • Larn (1986)
    • NetHack (1987)
    • Angband (1990)
    • ADOM (1994)
    • ZAngband (1994)
    • Slash'em (1998)
    • Dungeon Crawl Stone Soup (2006)
    • Dragon Fin Soup (2015)

Which of your favorite roguelike did I miss from my list? Any cool stories about staying up way too late and missing class because of this game? The frustration of being powerful and then YASD (Yet Another Stupid Death) like starving, quaffing a bad potion, bouncing lightning wrong, or any of the other numerous ways you could suffer harsh permadeath in these games. The ghosts (bones files) were cool in Nethack.

    Old School (Shops!)

Modern versions with same back-end procedurally generated goodness...
