Hey everyone, I've been following the LitRPG page on Facebook for a few months. I've seen various comments about the forum here and decided to check it out. I've only been reading LitRPG books for about 2 and a half months. During that time, I've burned through around 11 books and am always looking for new recommendations. I look forward to getting to know the rest of you. John
What was your first book and what has been your favorite so far? And welcomeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!
My first book was NPCs by Drew Hayes. My favorite is probably Ascend Online by Luke Chmilenko. I was really impressed by how well thought out his world, plot, and game mechanics were. He also had a few game skills in there that I had never before seen and thought were original. I've also read Awaken Online, Critical Failures, Video Game Plotline Tester and am currently reading the sequel, and have just started the Altered World series. The Magic 2.0 series and Run Program probably don't qualify as LitRPG, but if you consider them to be part of the genre, I've read those as well.
Welcome to the mad house, we all have hats here. Might be why we're as mad as hatters, maybe not as well. Please pull up a chair , have a cup of tea and remove to move down when it's time. Recommendations, my first go to is Emerilia, other then my own books.
@Eden Redd I'd probably get into trouble with my wife if I attended one of your parties. Thanks for the welcome though. @Felicity Weiss what are your favorite books or series? @Dustin Tigner thanks for the welcome. I've enjoyed reading your comments on different posts over the last two days that I've been a member here. @Seagrim you strike me as being cantankerous and a bit sarcastic. I think we're going to get along just fine. @Paul Bellow @Matthew James thanks for the welcome. @DJ Schinhofen great. Now, I have to go get a hat. @TWErvin2 thanks. It's an interesting place with some good conversations.
I made a shelf of some of my fav books over on Goodreads. Voici! =) https://www.goodreads.com/user/show/4427755-felicity
Okay, I checked it out. I'm glad I asked. We've read enough of the same books and have similar enough feelings about them so that I feel confident acting on your recommendations. I've needed something like this. Thanks again.
Now I wish I'd put a really embarassing book in this shelf so I could point it out as clearly the one you've identified with. Drat, whiffed on that opportunity! >: )
