I should be done with it by Tuesday. When it's up on LitRPG Reads, I'll come back and drop a link. Here's what it will go over... The Plot Light Novels Manga Anime Video Games Live Action Video Top Sword Art Online Characters Kirigaya Kazuto (Kirito) Asuna Yuuki Sinon Konno Yuuki Klein Suguha Kirigaya Silica Importance of SAO for LitRPG The idea is to use LitRPG Reads as a magnet to draw more people here. The post is up... *Glances over at @Readsalot hopefully...* https://litrpgreads.com/blog/respect-for-sword-art-online Anyone who goes over to the sister-site (starship), and hits Tweet/Share/Like will be well rewarded, I'm sure. It's a 2,500 word monster post, so I'm hoping it attracts some attention. Thoughts? Feedback? Anything you would add/change? Thanks!
That was really well written. I've heard of this franchise of course, but have never read/watched/played any of its formats. I'll have to keep it in mind if I reactivate my crunchyroll account. Have you read the novels? How's the translation to English? I've had a hard time light novels that were translated from another language in the past, so rarely bother unless I have a good recommendation. I shared it on my facebook, and for what it's worth, my highly underutilized twitter.
I've not read the novels yet, but I want/need to eventually. Anyone else? Someone in the @LitRPG Author group maybe? *Slips a test of Group Tags into the conversation...*
You can watch the anime version on crunchyroll for free. http://www.crunchyroll.com/sword-art-online I started watching it on my laptop but have to figure out how to get it on my TV somehow. Probs open a browser on my playstation.
Roku people. Roku. Modern TVs are smart TVs that have tons of apps you can install. Roku is a small box that does the same thing for your TV, but it has more options for channels than most smart TVs. With a Roku, you can get Netflix, Hulu, numerous free channels with tons of content, but more importantly Crunchyroll, Funimation and Animenetwork. Most smart TVs don't have those channels, Roku does and if you have a membership for streaming from the PC it's the same account for the Roku. My wife and I bought one, canceled our cable TV for just ultra high-speed internet, and haven't looked back once. Hell, we now don't have enough time to watch everything we can watch.
Totally forgot about the massive love story line in this anime. Found myself swiping away a few tears.
I think this is nearly the perfect anime to transition from anime to litrpg. I thoroughly enjoyed it the first time through, even if it doesn't have a lot of rewatch value for me. I consider it a must watch at least that first time. Especially the first season.
I like SAO. I know there's some people out there who hate it with every fiber of their being, but, I'm not one of them. It was my first introduction to LitRPG, and I found it to be a really well-done story with good characters.
