We know that for elementum the bonus is: - Weapons have a +10% damage to spell barriers. - Armor has a +2% resistance to a specific type of magic. Any guess what it could be for mithril since Krom wanted it so much?
Considering it is one of the hardest metals, a defence bonus for armor? Increased durability for weapons.
Something amazing. That we will only know about when he goes to magik forge that I can only assume one of the dwarf kingdoms have. Probably better to use a level 2+ metal.
Yeah that sounds right. At least one forge under the control of dwarvenkind. Though Krom once said he knew of seven south of the wilds. That would be the inferno forge in Rione, ???, ???, ???, ???, ???, ???. Yves probably has one or two, another one or two for the dwarves in the serrated or firetip mountains, possibly one on the twins, and a few others spread out amongst less important factions. I doubt Krom would know much of the lands west of Yves, but there could be a couple out there as well. Maybe even 1 or 2 the dwarf hasn't heard off.
Possibly that as well. That would make for an awesome quest. You have gained an epic quest: You have 30 days to find the lost level 7 Mithril forge of the stonekingdom to prove yourselves to the descendants of that once great realm. This is part of the ongoing questline - The Dwarven Decline. As you are companions with Krom, the illegitimate claimant to the throne of stone, know that the consequences of him refusing this quest will lead to a bloodfeud with the red stone dwarves and their allies. As Krom's liege, this means that under dwarven law you have a bloodfeud with them. In addition, should Krom agree, the red stone dwarves have promised to defend you at the AllClan and try to "smooth things over" after your theft of the granite breaker style, an offense normally punished by death unless the offender takes up the Slayers Oath. Will you accept this quest, no or "wait for Krom's decision"? Your body Nexus. Hi body, see who got promoted? I control what info you get now, but no hard feelings. I'd assume kingdom level factions like Yves have access to at least some core buildings. Now I know others have said that such a core building would be in the capital, but one does not tear down and rebuild a level 3 or 4 core building unless it is in a really exposed location. Even then its better to build a fortress around it.
My guess is straight damage bonus and a defense bonus to all damage types (poison, aoe, blunt pierce, charged field etc)
True, alteration point may also be able to move the buildings if you're the building master. Maybe enough points could give it legs? (howl's moving castle) Could also be a reason to level up your settlement, eventually getting it large enough where your settlement points come into play.
That seems a good idea. Reflects well the versatility of the metal. Something like: Offensive bonus: increase attack speed and dmg Defensive bonus: increase defense + mag resistance Maybe not the best for some specialized project, but very good in almost any situation.
It would be great if it was just another term for aluminum or titanium. Hrrm titan-ium....titan-steel. could be a titanium alloy steel.
From what they said about alloys not being mineable and the fact that we are told the manalevels are too low in the mine for it to support it (i'll be digging into that mechanic, that's a downright odd requirement if you really think about it. The safe seemed to exist just fine) i'd say no, its not an alloy.
Mana Levels are to Low for higher Tiered Metals to Form in the Mine, not to be mined. Also high levels of mana aren't needed for a High Level Metal to exist just for it to Form. Although there maybe a few that are exceptions and do actually need a High amount of mana to not begin to degrade in some way?
Given that mithril is a highly magical metal, I would think that the bonus would be something like +50% strength to enchantment and/or +50% resistance to magical attacks
Well in other books Mithril is known for being extremely hard and light. Not the Aleron always sticks to things like that. I'd guess higher defense and lower strength requirement to wield....remember Terrod could use the one dense forged sword as his strength was not high enough?
Higher Success Rate in Enchanting (but not higher enchanting potential), reduced weight and increased strength in armour and weapons(&ect).
