I'm relatively new to LitRPG. I've been reading it for about six months. I've just stumbled from one author to another. Sometimes this leads to great reads. Sometimes, less than great. Who should I be reading? Which books are the ones I should definitely check out? Thanks.
For example, I keep seeing people talk about The Land by Aleron Kong. I looked it up and the Amazon description says, "...from the Father of American LitRPG, Aleron Kong..." Is he really the first American to write LitRPG? Who are the other big names I should check out?
Depends on your tastes? So many great authors taking the genre in interesting directions these days. I'll let some of the others drop names. While not technically LitRPG, you should check out the Guardians of the Flame series if you get a chance. https://litrpgforum.com/threads/guardians-of-the-flame-series.77/
Lot of good suggestions in this thread... https://litrpgforum.com/threads/what-would-you-recomnend-for-a-new-reader.173/ I like the idea of having a separate thread for "must read" LitRPG, though, for people who might not necessarily be new to the genre.
