Very interesting. I've been following light novels for years now, including the cellphone novels. It's fascinating how many anime originates from light novels. I'm sharing the article on my social media. Thank you, Paul.
Anime and Light novels have an interesting relationship. Japanese companies have a tendency to think in terms of product packaging. So, they'll take a light novel, run out a 12 episode anime to help push it, then start making figures and other collectibles based on the anime characters. Then comes the Manga. Sometimes the novel and manga are reversed. One thing I'm glad about is there is now a bit more interest in moving the light novels into the American market. More and more are popping up on Amazon and running the Kindle route. Except for Log Horizon that is only in the dead tree version. I don't get that.
