Hey all, I must admit I've only recently become aware of LitRPG (have some friends who are writing stuff in it). As a MMORPG fan it's interesting to see this relatively new genre emerge. I tend to go "old school" with my gaming (much prefer Proj1999 to the Live version of Everquest). I'm also an author (traditional fantasy), and I'm not sure I'll be doing an LitRPG writing in the near future (too busy with other projects). But I do want to learn more with regards to the genre. And for any LitRPG authors out there, if you have any publishing questions (self or traditional) I'd be more than happy to help out.
Michael J. Sullivan, Saw you most recently on the Science Fiction & Fantasy Marketing Podcast Glad you found us here and joined. Terry Ervin
Thanks Terry, it's good to be here. Yep, just recorded that recently they do a great job over there. Hope you found it worth the listen.
Fantastic! Welcome, Mr. Sullivan. The opportunity to mingle with such successful authors on this board is like finding a powerful tome of forbidden knowledge.
Welcome, Mr. Sullivan! Seeing traditional fantasy authors also interested in LitRPG is very good news for all of us!
Greetings. Paul, it might be time to break out the traditional elvish cookies and the fine china for tea. I'll go hunting a fresh elf. British traditional or American new standard?
Michael! How have you been? I found myself wishing I were still making coffee so we could continue chatting about story. I learned more from your feedback than any book on writing I've read. I've been meaning to email you with an update... we sold the TV show, mostly because Howard Gordon liked it, but it didn't get made. Happens a lot. However, the project led to a producer asking me to consult on a feature, which led to finding an amazing new co-writer who's far more talented than I am. The thing is novel writing is a million times more fulfilling. Anyway, I can't thank you enough for your comments and taking the time to chat. I've still got a long ways to go, but reading your novels and just chatting with you and others is a huge benefit and cool experience, especially as a means to learn. Esrahaddon is still my favorite. Hope you're doing well, Kyle (your former barista)
In honor of you being here, I've officially created a "Fantasy Authors" group and given you that special tag. Thanks again for stopping by. Hopefully no one's tried to steal your LitCoin or Zorkmid yet! Cough (@Cadwe) Cough. Seriously, though, I appreciate you taking the time.
