Open Call for Beta Readers

Oh my, no I haven't yet. I better fix that. I was so swamped at work that I wasn't reading any new published stuff for weeks. Finally caught a breather.

 

I've got a pretty lengthy manuscript (about 103,000 words) but if you'd like to read and comment on the first several chapters I can make that happen and if you enjoy it I'll send you more. Or you can just have the whole thing, just know it's a WIP!

 

might as well shoot me the whole thing. I read pretty fast.

@Nyarlanotep I've finished reading it. I emailed back a copy with my comments on the docx. A bit tired now - finished around midnight.

 

Great feedback @Ian Mitchell! Glad you liked it, I'll be working on your revision suggestions.

 

For most of it I thought it read like a finished book (with a very few editing issues). For the first half I was wondering if there was going to be anything to comment on.

 

I have spent a lot of time to get it to that point. The second half still needs some work and probably some more in the first half to add some foreshadowing and such. Hopefully I'll be able to squeeze some time out of my schedule to actually finish it up and release it upon the world!

 

@Nyarlanotep, please remember that my comments are one persons opinion and observations. I'm not a pro editor. I write a little, I read a lot. Great fiction, look forward to the next one.

 

Having read your opinions I find they largely mirror my own, so I guess great minds think alike! I knew a few of the things you mentioned would need to be fixed at some point but it helps to be able to hear from someone with a fresh set of eyes.

 

Glad to head it. Some times I worry that my comments are incoherent drivel, especially late at night. Even if I can spot things doesn't mean I know how to do it myself. I'm still struggling working on mine. Every time I get to the real world sections I choke.

 

Ah the real world, how disappointing it can be. I hope you figure something out! If nothing else write something and you can edit the tar out of it later.
