WIP Roguelike: Tower of Gates Supplement Adventure

Okay... I think I may brand the standalone series as Tower of Gates Supplemental Adventures. Too dorky even for LitRPG?

Some great stuff in this short book. It'll make a good entrance into the main series and pull in a lot of Roguelike fans, I hope.

I'm thinking about redoing the cover. Not sure if I lost my original designer or not. Maybe @Viergacht can help? PM me, please!

That's about it for now. Roguelike (first standalone or supplemental) will be launched after book 3, but I wanted to peek at it today.

Writing the FINAL CHAPTER...

 

Sent to dev editor tonight.

 

Got first editor notes. Gonna let this one sit a while and gestate before I tackle the changes. Needs some heavy alterations to get it to the level I want while maintaining the feel of a roguelike as best I can...

 

Still not sure what I'm going to do with this mess. Heh.

Might try to cut it down and use as a short story/novella?

Because I wanted to capture the spirit of a roguelike, I ended up with a lot of telling over showing. Still might work, but I'm letting it sit for a bit.

 

Still editing this one. I should try to merge this and the other thread for this book. It confused me tonight too. Heh.

 

This went to the final editor today. Planning on dropping it roughly 3 weeks from now...

 

Some final touches on the Roguelike cover. I removed the tentacles and gave the red / orange of the shield a bit more vibrance. Also got rid of the undead looking head and replaced it with a helmet. Even if it doesn't quite fit the rest of the armor, it's a roguelike where you're picking up whatever to grind to lower levels. I used Photoshop magic for the touchups. Better?

 

Correction: a tentacle.

I like something on the sides to have the dungeon-closing-in-on-ya feel...

I dunno. Still time to change my mind.

 

Or change the hero into a sentient tentacle?
