WIP Seventh Talon

What the hell figured I'd start tracking some stuff here.

8/1 Research - Done! (Well is it ever really done? Got what I need for now.)
8/2 Game system refining. How does it work? 10 notebook pages and thirty post-it notes, and who knows what else randomly jotted in the margins. The beast is starting to emerge.
8/3 Further refining the system. Liking it so far.
8/4 Jotted down a few quick scenes as they came to me. Maybe 4,000 words worth of base material.
8/5 Player Plot Planning Pity Party w/ Peach Pancakes Patently Pleasant on the Palate Painted on Paper with a Painful Pacing and Packaging. (Yea that just happened. Think of it like the last supper, only each person is an alternate personality inside my head. Only the mentally unstable need apply.)
8/5.5 Later will actually start writing.

I'm flying out to Atlanta in the morning, when I get back, maybe I can piece all together so you get an idea of whats going on lol. I have to print some things out because I have them in scrivener too. Maybe I should get the crumbled up pieces out of the trash too lol.

8/7 Finalized the core structure of my game system. I feel confident enough to start writing and I really like where its at.
8/8 8,888 words (yes that is real, I deliberately stopped mid sentence just so I could end the day with 8888 words, this post doesn't count)

 

8/10 - Travel day, didn't do shit. I did day dream about another series. It is more in the same vein as Office Wars, but we will see if I ever develop on it.2
8/11 - Create a shitty looking map - Done!
8/12 - Create the final touches on the game system.
8/13 - 6,000 words give or take a hundred, too lazy to subtract form other totals.

I still owe you a picture of my chaotic world building madness. I guess I can toss in the shitty map too. It will be high level though because I don't want to give away spoilers.

 

Cool! I thought about this today too, but didn't want to hound you. I know how cagey writers can be with spoilers ; P

 

Here it is, the chaos. There are more things on my computer and in those various notebooks, but that gives you the gist of how much stuff I wrote out before I started writing. Don't work, the secret stuff isn't really a secret, in fact a good portion of what you may be able to read will probably change anyway.

I recognize the hats, but what is all that other stuff with writing on it on your desk? It is such a foreign substance....Wait?!? Is that paper? Stuff made from paper?!?

8/14 - 1,300 words maybe?
8/15 - Nada, did actual work, bleh. So overrated.
8/16 - 3,522 words, want to keep going but I have a lot to do tomorrow before I leave for Gencon

If anyone is going to Gencon, I'll see you there. Probably not, unless you arranged something, like the food truck that serves those awesome philly steak sandwhiches. I have my doubts about its beef content, but damn they were good.

 

Well, Gencon slowed me up, so I am just going to say from
8/16-8/24 maybe 10k words. Some of that is reworking previous sections to get everything smoothed over. Also updated my notes on how my game system works and added in some cool twists and ideas to help design characters faster.

Might put the first three chapters up at some point for feedback if anyone is interested. Need to polish some things first, and keep in mind its the very first draft so your input could help change how it unfolds. If interested, just follow this thread and I will post when I am asking for input.
