Hi all - my new sci-fi LitRPG is being posted up on RR as I edit chapters. Up to 24 chapters as of today. Years ago, he shocked the world by leaving the packed arenas, e-sports headlines, and his team—the Nefarious Five—behind after one hell of a defeat. Mitch never asked for a second chance, but, turns out, the game decided to give him one anyway. Big time. When his old mentor reveals that the members of the Nefarious Five—consisting of a heavily-armed brute who destroys anything in her path, a genius-level demolitions expert, a wildcard as unpredictable as he is crazy, a mysterious sniper who lives in the rafters, and the team's new leader who is just a bit too perfect—have vanished, lost in a series of uncharted VR worlds, Mitch knows he's the only one with the skills and know-how to bring them back in one piece. His journey into the unknown pins him between virtual rocks and digital hard places, settling old scores with his team with one hand while fighting zombie cowboys and giant machine-gunning robots with the other. As he uncovers a rogue AI that is pulling Skirmish towards ultimate destruction, Mitch realizes he must make a decision he never imagined. SIDE QUEST is READY PLAYER ONE meets WRECK-IT-RALPH, a new take on LitRPG sci-fi that takes the reader through new worlds, exciting game quests, and a mixed bag of characters that somehow end up fitting together in the end, rough edges and all.
You broke the rules!!!! This isn't LitRPG!!!!! Just kidding! Again, good to have you here. Hopefully, you'll get some traffic to your story. It's one of the reasons I set-up this place. Side Quest definitely sounds interesting!
So I'd call it LitRPG lite - set in a game world w mechanics and levels, but light on tables. Or, maybe you're just messing with me, which I totally respect.
