I spent the better part of the day trying to come up with a name for the AR world in my novel, and in a 'Eureka' moment I came up with "Panmachina AR" My wife sent me this. Roughly translated, "doesn't this mean 'bread machine'?" Sigh. Do you who have them let your partners read your work?
My wife gets first glance at everything I do. Often times I get editing notes when I reuse words, phrases, and if I use one too many times she'll start counting... So, it gives us something to talk about, but she also gets to see my stupid first hand. And that's a thing.
For the sake of the book, I’d recommend still having a professional editor to check things over, but for the sake of your relationship, I’d recommend letting your SO check things over first.
