You didn't use it visibly in the sub-title? I do notice a lot just using it as a keyword. The thing is, if Kong gets control of the term, you won't be able to use it as a keyword if he bugs Amazon about it. Just something to keep in mind. Fly that flag proud!
It will be on all the sides stories I publish, but it just didn't sound reasonable to say: Login Accepted: Incipere Online Book One, A LitRPG Adventure. Maybe it's just me being new to the whole publishing thing, but if it does sound better, I'll add it from here on out. Maybe add it in to the description of all of them...
Actually, yours should be Title: Login Accepted Sub-title: A LitRPG Adventure Series: (Incipere Online Book One) Not sure how you used the KDP boxes, tho. Really meant just show it once - even if it's in the blurb in bold or something.
Hmm, I put the subtitle as Incipere Online Book One. and the series as the same. So much to learn still, and so much to still do to help the community. Book two shall amend this.
Well, after it publishes, I would fix it. The reason being that the series box is what ties different ASINs (titles) together for Amazon's backend. You're doing great. Not many can finish and publish a book.
My friends say the same. Thankfully, none of my preorders are from them! Now, all I need is that much coveted 8 outta ten from the LitRPG Podcast, and my first book will have crushed all expectations of my own.
Talking about Amazon, has anybody tried to write to them asking to add LitRPG to their category list? I tried several times and received a generiс negative response but maybe if we persevere, one day they just might do it...
and for any of those who might suggest a "gamelit" category, while it might be more deserving it won't happen, either... no media attention as opposed to litrpg... less authors using the term... newer creation... etc...
I personally find "gamelit" more descriptive and better suited to English, but now it's the question of principle, really, simply to keep "LitRPG" available to all authors and readers.
I'm not contesting that gamelit is more suitable, not in the slightest. I'm just pointing out that there's a significant difference in usage between the two terms, regardless of objective merit.
This just made me think of something. D&D is a trademarked term, right? And Amazon has a category for them... Hmmm...
I don't think so. I'm not even sure they're aware of his (or the term's) existence. It's more likely the apparent arcaneness of the genre...
Okay, there's 2 D&D cats. Here's the other one where most LitRPG resides...This is actually a NON-FICTION category, but who cares... Amazon Best Sellers: Best Dungeons & Dragons Gaming
