Simon Vale from Magic Dome Books already said they'd fight it if it ever went to principle register. Simon posted a few times in the FB group with screenshots, dates, and more showing that they used the term "in the right context" well before Kong started writing. I don't think it's going to come to that, but it does effectively keep Amazon from adding it as a genre so it screws authors in the genre from ever getting the same level of recognition in genre as other books.
Yea, I don't know how she managed to get both of those Trademarks. It's one thing to Trademark a specific font, style, etc. in a specific genre, specifically with a series title. Trademark away on that! But... to trademark a word. A word used in any capacity on a book in an entire genre where the word is probably commonplace... that's just jacked up.
She wasn't even the first one to use it. Penelope Ward wrote one back in 2015... https://www.amazon.com/Cocky-Bastard-Penelope-Ward-ebook/dp/B014005B72

Seriously, though, I've just been too distracted/busy to update the forum software. It's still on my list, but now I'm fighting to make sure I keep enough money coming in to keep everything running. Fun times! I'll get us a ROFLMAO emoji soon. Promise.
Been talking to the guys on twitter since last night, interesting... to say the least, watch this space.
