I've got mixed feelings on this. I feel like it could have been fleshed out so much more, explained more, and just not cramed into a single movie. I would have rather had a 15 or even 10 episode season to cover the material in it. Maybe I'm just silly like that.
They still can do it, it's anime. Taking 10 episodes and cramming it into a single movie, or, taking a movie and rebuilding it into a series arc is what they do. There's two different series for Negima that has almost the exact same characters with an entirely different story...and let's not even start with Tenchi Muyo.
