I agree a pure ogre city is very unlikely. A mixed city with many different races is what I expect.

Ogre Lord could be a tier 2 ogre evolution. If Richter is unlucky the city is built on top of a place of power and the Ogre Lord not only holds the crystal but managed to use it for his tier-up achieving a special race like mist lord giving him massively increased power within his domain. That would certainly explain him holding power for an extended period.

Dark Elfs, Orcs, multiple underground beasts and races.. dark dwarfs.. yeah its a multicultural city.
Not sure if Lord is an indication of Tier 2/3.. We also have Kings, dukes... Chieftans..
Might also be a conglomeration of multiple Ogre clans..

    Unlucky???

    That’s what Ricther needs!

Another master of a place of power would be great. Ricther could challenge him to a duel. Then when he gets to it he can go to mental magic. That would be great.

I would think that there are probably Skills and versions of things like Psi Crystals and other methods that can be used to activate not just the Mental Aegis Stats in himself but possibly/probably Psi(onic) Abilities/Skills like Telepathy, Empathy, Telekinesis, Far Seeing, ect, in himself. And quite possibly Thought Magic as well. The trick would be finding them.

If the ogre lord wants a duel that would definitely be an option.

What if he says "me have big city, me need not your shiny stone"? or worse

"seize him and break his body, when we shall duel!!"

Settlement patents maybe. But what would the Orges be doing with a magic core?

You have discovered a core building:

    "Core Arena lvl 2.

A coliseum for battle where participants can fight any discovered beast and each other. Winner of the fight is greatly rewarded and useful ingredients from the Beasts are sold in an auction right after the fight. Coliseum also allows for the viewers to place bets on the fights and tournaments. This building allows for a settlement to easily harvest special ingredients from the beasts what could not be done otherwise, except with a specialized Harvesting professional and only then at a low % chance.

    With current level bonuses are:
    +10% to harvested ingredient quality.
    +20% to harvested ingredient quantity.
+20% to collected taxes from all income(sales and gambling).
+5% to upgrade the ingredient rank to next tier(f.e. common -> uncommon)
+10% experience from fights in the arena.
+3% to spawn new unknown monsters during fights.
    "

I guess that arena could work, as its a core building so it has magic to summon with. Reasonably powerful, might be a bit underpowered given its relatively narrow scope? I assume you can actually die in there.

I say build it in the dungeon. Then sell beer and pretzels. You win exp from the monsters while others watch. If you fight multiple monsters for a title then you can win a purse. Equal matches carry no penalties. If you are to high a level fighting something weaker you have adjustment penalties. If you choose something higher then yourself you could get a bonus.

After achieving a purse match you could forego the purse for another fight and a chance of a greater purse.

Well if Richter gets back to MV before his tier 2 has "settled in" it would be easy to get high level psi crystals with Alma having evolved. Perhaps he could absorb them like the beans. Also might it be possible that he could absorb the remains of the rock giant? Or perhaps the assengai eggs? He normally could not use them but right now, maybe.

Good question but you have to admit its just the way the story has gone so far. Richter does have that really high luck stat.

So say this is the case. That would mean that Richter would get another core token. Could they be used on the same building for an increased effect? On another note they are awfully hard to destroy and lets face it the Rakshasha is who really destroyed the mausoleum. How's Richter going to be able to do it this time?

The powers led Richter straight to the location of the first two cores, that's not luck.

The lich had built his powerbase around the third core. It was the heart of his power. That's a massive risk with a small potential reward, which Richter managed to get. Guess it was lucky the lich was there? Bad luck is still luck.

Doesn't even need to get back to the village, man just needs a bow, some arrows, and his mana pool. They go over in book 7 that they don't need to be together for him to gain the effects of the enhanced imbue arrow.

I would look at the eggs and the celestial fruit. I would ask Elora for some celestial tree roots for that purpose. I would also look hard at the life tree root I had left.

So you are saying every master of a POP gets a magic core per power? In that case Richter should have 4 not 3. Where are the Hearth Mother's 3? Where are Yves 4 core buildings?

Lucky that there was a core at all. They are as we know very rare. Now you could say unlucky that Richter had to go up against someone/something so tough? Then again would the dungeon be lvl 14 if the fight was not so tough? Would he have awoken both powers? Would the village have leveled the adventurer specialty if not? Sounds like a crap ton of luck to me. Maybe you are just in a covid bad mood like so many others.

Yup, straight to it. There were no siderooms in the church and only a few enemies or traps. To finish the quest he had to stand in the room with the alter. Similarly he had to interact with the life pillar in order to do the quest.

They weren't rewards for the quest, but they were definitely part of the reason he was led to those particular locations. I mean the powers could choose any minor threat to the domain, but they have chosen areas that hold cores so far.
