Added another supplement. I knew I needed/wanted one for Josh, but I might've came up with an idea for it tonight. Title is HAREM.
This is awesome. What are beats exactly? I think you've explained, but it's 1 am and I'm having a complete brain fart.
Oh, it's even less info that the broadstrokes outline. Opening Scene Going good. Aw, Man... First Turning Point Midpoint Whammy Dark Night 1 Second Turning Point All Hope is Lost Dark Night 2 Maybe not! Working together Climax battle Closing Scene (refer to opening scene) Those will be sprinkled throughout 24 to 40 chapters typically... That schedule is way behind where I am. Heh. I need to update it, but I really need to get writing again.
Oh. Duh. So you get the basic idea, then your beats, and then do the outlines? Huh, I should try that. I think I try to detail too hard. Also, I'm already going "wait, I have to wait how many books to find out what happens?!".
Yeah, the detail comes after the beats and after the broadstrokes - for me anyway. It's a HUGE payoff, though. Trust me!
Cover for first Omnibus is in, and I've got the epub all ready. I think I'm going to launch at $0.99 - Five novels for a buck! Thanks again for the excellent work, @Viergacht !
Hah. I wish I would've stuck to that schedule. I've been hit or miss lately. November I did 110k words, but December I only did around 30k, I think. This month isn't looking good either. I've been trying to slow down and make sure the quality is as high as I can get before pushing them out.
I am still astounded at 110k in one month. Like, I shell out about 1000wph x 5 hrs a day x 18 work days per month. It's not true full-time writing but its close. Then I have to edit (@5k wph). Then solicit content editing and integrate its advice. There are also copy and proof edits to handle. Overall, it's really hard for me to produce more than 100k finished, publishable words faster than 3 months. That's if I have no sick days, vacations, or serious interruptions either (like freaking Christmas). TBF, I could increase my output by 30% if I managed to keep the nose to the grind-stone 8hrs a day x 22 days a month but administration, marketing, book planning, world-building, and being a Dad all get in the way of raw writing. I'm really curious as to your process and speeds. I.e. share some tricks? I wanna produce books faster. ^_^
