So we know from what the bloodstone and the druid did that upcasting is a thing. You can increase the rank of your spell leading to stronger or additional effects. So what spells would be fun to upcast? Summon mist worker?
That might be due to a Talent, but might also be due to knowing the different Ranks of the Spell, but quite probably both. I'd be interesting to see how different Ranks (UpCast from Weak) of Summon Bile Rats & Biting Bugs, Magic Missiles, Haste, Flame and Ice Dagger differ from the original Weak versions.
Bile rats → Rancid R.O.U.S.s Biting Bugs → Licking Spiders Magic Missile → Arcane ICBM Haste → Hurry the f**k Up Flame → Torch Ice Dagger → Frozen Great Sword
Upcasting? quote plz! Not sure but seems like bloodstone simply took over the bloodmage as an entity and started to cast blood magics.... or ur talking about the first casts of druids spells... still how will u get the "upcasting" effect without the bloodstone?
I'm pretty certain that the Goblin Druids Curse of Tartarles(Spelling?) mentioned that he had Purchased additional Ranks of that Spell with Talent Points, but that the BloodStone had Powered the Spell way beyond his Capabilities.
Dread harvest was another example of an increasing rank spell. I think that rankable spells are a certain type of spell. While it is certainly possible to over charge a spell with the right tools or talents and am pretty sure they are an entirely different animal.
My impression from the book was the ability to up-cast a spell was related to it being a talent pick from the profession (so you dont out level the spell you gained from talent points), It had more power the more mana you could put into it, and the blood stone could put out a lot more power than the druid.
