So an interesting discussion was had between myself and some friends today now that they have caught up on Log Horizon and after reading SpeedRunner, this maaaaay go on a touch so please forgive the brain gushing.

The Players who enter LitRPG worlds tend to be outsiders a touch in each of the worlds unless its the sort of world they become the people of. This can have a drastic effect on the worlds own inhabitance (NPC’s) when certain elements are dragged into these new worlds.

    For example: Music.

What do the NPC’s make of music that the players hum to themselves as they walk down the street? or even openly preform?
Much of this would be brand new to the inhabitants of the world, who wouldn’t necessarily have access to our books/music/etc – Hell, try explaining a movie or Video game to a medieval knight! or someone even less educated!

The fact is we (the readers/players) are visitors to those lands and we bring with us quiet a bit of the new and the weird.
We may not have electric guitars in their realm but there are many songs that just use a piano, violin or a normal guitar.

It’s interesting to think about what they would think about our music in general especially some of the more interesting stuff such as Heavy Metal or Rock and Roll, how they would react could easily be whole chapters of books.

I thought about something similar to this the other day. What would you miss most from the modern world if you were in a fantasy game? Pizza? Ice cream sandwiches?

Damn...That would depend on the craft system if there even is one in the world! Pizza would be easy enough since a stone furnace is one of the easiest thing in the world to make but Ice Cream?! ...that would take some next level control of ice element type magic.

I want to see an NPC nobles reaction to PIZZA! XD

Heh. I threw this up on twitter just to get other reactions.
Got this: "He's singing some form of witch song! Heretic! Kill them!" *swords being drawn*
I had to fire back in kind of course:
