Somebody posted this pic of Ronda in Malaga, Spain, and I immediately fell in love with it. It reminded me of David Gemmell's 3rd Waylander book, in which he describes a scene in which a character enters Waylander's castle late at night. The entrance is the opening to a tunnel leading down and down. The character feels somewhat uneasy the whole night, spending it underground. The next morning she wakes up, still uneasy, and opens the curtain. An incredible scene meets her eyes as she looks out the window at an azure blue sea stretching endlessly into the distance. Waylander's castle is built into the cliff itself, with an entrance at the top and apartments and rooms overlooking the bay, carved into the cliff all the way to the beach at the bottom. I can just imagine myself living here, with a huge banner hanging from the cliff that says, "F@ck off, peasants."
