Thread to post what you're playing and what you think of it, also therefore a thread to share recommendations (remember to include the platform). I want to start playing a game on the PC again, just some mindless thing during the odd hours over the holidays while I'm stuck at the computer. I haven't played any PC games in ages, though. It's always been the PS since they came out. Any suggestions? The last one I enjoyed playing was Dungeon Siege, a million years ago. It was fun because you could just point and click and the whole party would attack automatically. You could even pause a fight in the middle to change your strategy. I played Heroes of Might and Magic 6 a while ago, and that was quite a lot of fun. I've been looking at games like Titan Quest or Divinity - slightly older games that won't cost as much and take as much space. I played Summoner for a day or two this week, to check it out, but it's so old that the graphics annoy me.
Assassin's Creed Odyssey. Super fun. More RPG than the other games in the series (a step up from Origins) and I love Greek mythology.
Bugger. Got the Divinity Original Sin Enhanced Edition only to find out my drivers are too weak to flipping play it. MY PC is just as middle-aged as I am.
Taking an RPG break for a while and back playing a lot of Endless Space 2 on the PC. Probably the best turn-based "conquer the galaxy" game since Master of Orion 2, thought the recent update has made the pirates truly annoying rather than an njoyable distraction you have to somehow deal with. Some gamers haven't liked the space battles being presented as cinematics based on the tactics you choose at the start rather than something you control step-by-step, but the wins and looses feel much more emotionally charged for me watching those.
Warframe. My wife got into it, so I dumped four years worth of materials into building a guild so she'd have allies outside of myself. Already a happily rank four, nearly five guild with me at the only real contributor. Thank you, stack of Formas and endless supplies of other things.
My son got me playing fortnite. I sucked at it until I realized there was a campaign version and you didn't have to play the battle royal stuff. It's actually pretty fun. You get to upgrade weapons and traps, build sweet forts, etc.
Zero K mostly when I have a chance to unwind at night / after work... Training for the next 1v1 tournament!
Only a few hours into AC: Odyssey but already having more fun than I had with either Witcher 3 or AC: Black Flag, two other games I've tried out recently. My favorite feature is that I can just roam about and 'discover' quests. Nothing turns me off an RPG faster than having a 'main plotline' shoved down my throat, cut scene by cut scene.
Red Dead Redemption 2 on PS4. It takes such a long time to get going - I nearly quit, but stuck with it. (I still prefer the original's pacing and variety, though).
Ya hoo! My brother helped me upgrade my PC so now I can play Divinity. First new (well, new for me) RPG I've played on a a PC in decades. It looks awesome!
Summoners War - okay game but if you buy stuff not much value for money Hearthstone - good game Pokémon GO - I like it
Unbelievably, after my brother spent all that time and effort upgrading my PC so I can play Divinity Original Sin, I decided to (just quickly) check out Titan Quest Anniversary Edition and I've been playing it nonstop for two days! It is ridiculously addictive.
Just got Kingdom Hearts: The Story so far which has all of the previously released KH games in it. It's been so long since I played KH2 that I figured I'd better give myself a refresher before KH3 comes out at the end of January.
Hoizon Dawn on the PS4 is excellent, I highly recommend it. It is open world, combat oriented with side quests and main missions. Skill trees and crafting capabilities. Beautiful graphics
I'm attempting to platinum AC Origins right now on PS4 - only three more trophies to go! Hoping to do this by the end of the month so I can get started on AC Odyssey. I'm glad to hear others above are already enjoying it. I play other games, but this is the main one I'm focusing on. And, of course, I'm a regular on WoW...
Haha what do you mean? I just finished KH: The final remix. I forgot how hard that game gets towards the end for a disney game. Square definitely gave it a final fantasy sort of ending with the unending boss fights.
Kingdom hearts... so many games between two and three that have no impact on the third game... However, I suggest you should play D3 (Dream Drop Distance) as it directly impacts 3's story.
