I have a question! It's been a long time since I've been involved in the LitRPG community. I started reading the genre a few years back, and then began writing a couple stories, managing to get a few hundred pages banged out before life yanked me in a different direction. What I was wondering is what the state of LitRPG is today. When I stopped writing in the genre, I took a break from reading it, as well, but back then most stories were "Main character gets stuck in or is playing in a MMORPG and finds validation/success there." Is that still what we're seeing in the genre?
There are a ton more books. More charlatans, more folks shoehorning in a system without understanding litrpg, more very good stories, more very different stories, and lots of indie stuff still.
