The LitRPG Forum is playing a Continue The Story game!

Hi! Your friendly Fel here. Long time no post, right? Well, there’s an excuse good reason for that. I’ve been pre-occupied with manning our Discord https://discordapp.com/invite/654FVHm and most importantly, hatching up crazy schemes like this! What crazy scheme is that you ask? Whether you are an amateur or professional, hobbyist or published author, we invite you to show off your creativity and add to the story tentatively titled, ‘RESTART’. For fun, for friendship, and most certainly not for profit.

For the purpose of our Continue The Story game, Paul has created a Royal Road account under the general name of ‘LitRPG Forum’. It is my hope that this will help people discover the LitRPG Forum, our Discord and even better, discover you too. Provided you aren't too shy to supply a link or two where people can stalk ya.

Over on RR, I’ll hype up our story game in an introduction to the readers. In a perfect world, I want them to have as much fun reading as we do writing. As each chapter posts, I will throw the author into the arena, er, introduce the author in a kick-ass way.

I’ve tricked Jonathan Smidt aka @Glyax Jonathan Smidt (@JW_Smidt) | Twitter into writing the set-up chapter for us which will post on Sunday, March 10th, 2019 over on our RR account. I am so very excited for this, I am practically vibrating.

Now onto the deets:

• The setting: It is the year 2047, somewhere on earth.
• MC: As of yet unnamed, 17 yo female. Author of chapter 2 gets to name her, oh the pressure!
• The game: Full immersion, fantasy RPG world.

A few rules:

• You may not kill or permanently maim our heroine.
• You may not contradict other entries.
• You may not include porn or X-rated material.
• After you write an entry, that’s it, you are done. This is a game and we want it to be short and fun without being a time sink.
• Entries should be of chapter length with a word count between 2k and 5k and flow from the previous entry.

Some hints:

• Any missing details (hair color, height, profession, friends, personality) you are encouraged to create.
• Eventually, as a person on the cusp of adulthood, our MC should come into her own and find a way to live life the way she wants. Vague I know, but this is our overarching goal and we are gonna have an adventure and rock it!

I reserve the right to correct spelling and grammar. Try to keep your entries in third person limited to flow with the rest of the story. When the last participant is up to write their chapter, we will either have that person end it there or I will write a closing chapter. And that’s it, game over and hopefully everyone had fun!

Need a taker for chapter 3. Would like to see the game fleshed out with some stats and flavor. A twist or mix-up of some sort to shake things up would be amazing. It is my hope that we get readers invested and they begin to make suggestions for the next chapter writer to consider.

@WaywardDreaming I have not had a queue, but I suppose we should make one. First, a taker for Chapter three then I'll consult the god of RNG whereupon a list of victims, er, participants will populate itself for display in this thread.

Gryphon, the story will remain on RR as a testament to our Story Game until the robot apocalypse happens, and everyone is shepherded into a fully immersive VR game so we can continue exisiting. Let's hope the servers don't bite the dust in the meanwhile, because EVEN THEN, I'd like for us to look back on RESTART with our digitilized selves and reminisce on the good ol' days.
