Wow. I wrote 8486 words today, wrote 5 chapters. All on a side project. I've written more words in a day, but I can't remember when. Whew!
I went off and finished my side project. It started out as a novella, and ended up a short novel. Anyway, the side projects don't earn much so it'll be put in the secondary editing queue for know ( I already have a cover, so it will be done and published in Feb). First, I have a GameLit book to finish edits and publish. And then, and then, I jump back into my 5 book mini-series. Five novels about Dorothy's return to Oz. Series title: Return to Oz with a Vengeance. Oz has gone downhill since Dorothy left. Scarecrow got magic, became the new Wizard of Oz, and his dark magic corrupted everyone and every thing. It's now a very wicked world, and the witches are the wickedest of them all. And everyone places the blame squarely on Dorothy! So Dorothy returns with 21st Century weaponry, and starts kicking witchy/wizardy butt. Only the bad guys have a few naughty tricks up their sleeves. Blood and guts, sex and violence. This will not be for the squeamish. Though one of my pen names has an audience for that sort of thing. Yeah, it's not going to be your grandmothers sweet and innocent Dorothy. I'm excited. I'm holding all of them until they are all written, and then publishing them in quick succession to test how that works.
Finally got the outline figured out, and started writing yesterday. I hope to add some good numbers to the leader board this month. I was aiming for 85k words, but I spent over a week fiddling with the outline. Still 4 - 5k a day should bring me in on goal.
This is such an awesome idea. Since I'm giving myself a pretty heavy session of deadlines this year, I'd love to take part. Will it be an ongoing thing?
I'm torn between three lovers. Okay, three WIPs. All three books wanted, need to be, DEMAND to be written. All at the same time. They are all in my head battling for supremacy. I'm writing, but not as much as I could if one of them won the battle and I could go all in on it. Will the next book be fantasy? Gamelit sequel? Or erotic Gamelit/harem book?
Haha. Na I'm good. I just like to keep myself accountable. I binge write, so I will write like crazy for the next week or so, and then (since I'll be editing) I won't be drafting at all. Binge write. Binge edit. Binge read. Binge gaming. Binge Netflix
Wahoo! Lots of sheets in the wind. I actually got 2k words today. That might not sound impressive, but historically I tend to perform poorly in the first day of a month.
This spreadsheet is awesome. Having to input my word-counts really helps me try to beat my own goals. I'm nearing the end of this draft though, so I only have a few days left in my counts heh
