That's EXACTLY why I think you should write an article about it. I'm not asking you to do book reviews. I'm talking about an article about how this is a big, gaping hole in the genre. It's more than that. It's a marketing opportunity because it represents an unfilled need. Some savvy author could swoop in and capture an audience simply because they were offering something that hardly anyone else is doing. I think you should write an article to advocate for that.

I've hit the wall with my own LitRPG a hundred times. There are some challenges with this genre, though I think it's fun. Most of my work may be more LitVR than LitRPG (current book is decently LitRPG), though to some degree, I see those terms synonymous.

I prefer female MCs too. When I was younger, I wouldn't read anything with a female lead, or read female writers. I was a sexist pig. Sorry. But as I've grown older, I've come to appreciate the female perspective, and the different challenges a female character faces. Also, I reading/writing UF made me fall in love with badass female characters.

Both of my LitRPGs have female main characters, but they are erotic/erotica, so maybe not your cup of tea.

But YEAH for kick-butt female characters!

Yeah, I really, really, really (!!) need to polish my first in series... maybe rewrite the whole thing as two books each with a separate POV... and better editing...

I go to sleep for 3 hours for the first time in a couple of weeks and this blows up. All good ideas! :)

I have zero idea how much work/effort a podcast is, but I've toyed with the idea of making a writing rant/craft related one.

In terms of content transported to FB to bring in new members, there must be a way to edit/mold some of our best conversations and make them into posts, all the while linking back to here for the exciting "conclusion"... (Maybe I should have put exciting in quotes as well.) :)

*Edit - and yes my lack of sleep made me post some nonsense the first time... :)

I got here and I read, "Sleep for 3 hours," or something like that. John is already quick on the like, and I'm thinking, "I'm missing an inside joke or something..." lol.

A podcast would be awesome. And re-posting our epic discussions on Facebook is a great idea. That's another benefit of the group. We can share content between our communities while other communities typically won't allow us to post our forum content. It also helps us bring up old debates to debate them again! Woot!

I've read one of them. I enjoyed it. But whilst I recognise that they are technically LitRPG I don't classify them as LitRPG for myself. It's the same with @Eden Redd Lewd Knights.

Basically, what I mean is, when I'm in the mood for erotica, I enjoy your work, and Eden's. I really like them because, inter-species sex, yay.
But when I'm in the mood for LitRPG, it's not really sexual content I'm in the mood for. So when I want to read LitRPG I don't turn to your work.

Sarah Connor and Ellen Ripley are still two of my favourite characters ever.

Alternatively, I could not point out the gaping hole, and then I could be the savvy author who fills said gaping hole.

    Umm, not a euphemism

I am becoming a little bummed with my attempt at writing @ 40. I see these posts on FB fantasy writer support groups where the members are all...hi, I am 14 and am published, or something like that.

I don't think anyone has possibly had enough time at 14 to write the shit words out of their system so that they can start writing good ones...

First 1,000,000 words are meant to be shit. At 14 I'd been writing every day for six years and I was still not good enough to be published.

I think I've actually cracked that over the years, if you include in game typing before voice chat was crazy popular, then I have crossed the "crap content" threshold for sure. I've been making bad puns and corny jokes in guild chats for a very long time.
